Many people are always saying "Bring back old ROBLOX!" or "Old ROBLOX was better!". Even if i joined back in 2012, i can't understand why people always say that. So, i'm trying to explain why new ROBLOX is actually the better game.
1. Tix
This is the main reason why people say that old ROBLOX was better. It was a free currency, and people could get it without spending money. The problem was: ROBLOX was growing, and Tix was highly abused. Tix was made more and more worthless, until it got completely removed in April 2016. I think if Tix was still a thing, ROBLOX would go bankrupt maybe in 2018 or 2019. Even if i was mad when i first saw it, we have to accept it, and we also need to think of ROBLOX and their revenue.
2. Guests
Guests were a feature where people could play without making an account, but they couldn't chat, they couldn't change their avatar, e.t.c. They could only play games. This feature was already criticized before the removal, because many people used the guest mode to exploit. So when i saw that ROBLOX removed guests, i wasn't really bothered. Also, every kid knows how to make a ROBLOX accoutn so what's the point?
3. No Slenders
I understand that some of them are toxic, but it's childish that people are judging others about their avatar style. If they like it, they can keep the avatar style. Also slenders are sooooo rare, so why cry about them.
4. Genre Filter
I can agree with this one, and i totally don't know why ROBLOX removed it, so yeah i have to be honest.
5. Best Friends
Best Friends & Friends turned into Friends & Followers so why cry about it? I know there could be Best Friends, Friends & Followers, but that update was done a long time ago, in February 2015.
6. Better Games
In the old days, there were also condo games or ODing games, so why say old games were better. I know that today there are goddamn simulators, but i just don't play them. Just stop supporting these goddamn simulators, and everything will be fine.
7. No Pay 2 Win
I can partially agree with this one here. But only 2018 was the gamepass year, nowadays there are not that many gamepasses, you can enjoy a ROBLOX game without gamepasses. And 75% ROBLOX players don't have robux anyways, so it would be smarter if games are also full-enjoyable without paying robux.
8. No Hackers & Exploiters
This one seems kinda ironic to me, because in old ROBLOX there were a lot of hackers & exploiters that ruined the game. I know today there are also hackers/exploiters, but way more less than it used to be in old ROBLOX.
9. Better logo
They just tried to modernize the logo, and what is so bad about that? We have to adjust to the present of ROBLOX and not just cry about the "good old days".
10. No Rthro
I partially agree with this one. I know Rthro was a failure from ROBLOX, and they prefer it, but if players want to use Rthro it's their decision. We should really accept every avatar style, slender or not slender, R6,R15 or Rthro, Girl or boy, Classic or Modern, Bacon or Pro, e.t.c.
11. Better Layout
Just because it's blue it is good or what? The new one is much more advanced and it looks a lot more modern.
Conclusion:
When i joined as a little kiddo back in 2012, i had fun playing ROBLOX. I agree that ROBLOX made some bad updates, but they made more good updates than bad updates. We only see the bad updates, but we should also note that ROBLOX also made good updates. And also, in my opinion, ROBLOX improved alot since the horrible year 2018.
