Tix or Tickets was a free currency that was highly abused. Due to many factors, Roblox ended up removing Tix on April 14, 2016.
It's pretty interesting to play with the thought if Roblox never removed Tix, and with this timeline, I try to show what I think what would've happened.
March 15, 2016: Instead of announcing the removal, Roblox decides to make a blog post about the problems with Tix, and how the team is trying to solve them. YouTubers such as greenlegocats123 believe in a Tix removal, which is however, never going to happen. Tixapalooza also never happens.
April 14, 2016: Tix was not removed and is still a big part of Roblox. Meanwhile, the Roblox Forums were full of posts about Tix, which seems to annoy Roblox.
Later 2016: Roblox creates another blog post, stating that they will change a few things in 2017.
January 1, 2017: Roblox changes heir logo, due to it being more recognizeable.
March 16, 2017: Roblox makes a big update about Tix. One Tix now only has the value of 10 Robux, but the botting of Tix doesn't stop and it may become a problem if the massive growth of Roblox continues.
Mid 2017: As the Roblox Community starts massively growing in 2017, more and more people start to complain about Tix and the abuse coming with it.
Later 2017: Roblox removes the Genre Filter, Guest Mode and the Forums. This can be seen as the changing point of Roblox as a platform.
Mid 2018: Due to Roblox losing more and money, and the botting becoming worse and worse, Roblox finally decides to make a Tix limit for each IP, as you can now only collect 100 Tix in one day. This update kinda helps, however the people who were into botting still continue to do that.
Later 2018: Roblox decides to have no mercy and poisons bans Tix-Botters, but the effects are still small.
Early 2019: Roblox is close to bankcruptcy due to the more massive getting botting of Tix.
Mid 2019: Roblox makes a blog post in which they announce the official removal of Tix, as the botting of it has almost made them bankrupt.
August 21, 2019: This is the exact date Roblox removed Tickets. Roblox needs a few years to recover, and Tix has a way worse reputation nowadays than in our timeline.
And yes, the title of the Thread is "What if Roblox never removed Tix?", however, at least in 2019 they had to remove the currency or face bankruptcy.
Thanks for reading!
