i sadly have not much experience with MacOS or Apple devices at all. Only really using GarageBand on an Ipad. But, seeing as what is happening, i recommend to try to clean out junk files with CCleaner or something available for Mac. Then try a reinstall. I also would like to know if 11.6.8 is the latest version of MacOS's Big Sur.
